Privacy policy
Last updated November 4, 2026
Blue Basin Systems, L.L.C. ("we") makes the Windows apps below and sells or gives them out through the Microsoft Store. This policy covers those apps and this website. The first part is true of every app. After it, each app has its own section saying what that app does with your information.
- Extraction DeskCase and phone tracking for mobile forensics examiners.
- FlightDockBig buttons for keyboard shortcuts, on any screen.
- ClipBasinText snippets and a clipboard dock. ClipBasin also has its own, more detailed privacy policy.
Every app
- No accounts, ads, analytics or tracking. You don't sign in to any of our apps, and they don't show ads or report how you use them.
- Your information stays with you. What you enter in an app is saved on your PC, and in files and folders you choose. We never receive it.
- A log for fixing problems. Each app can write a log on your PC to help fix problems. It stays on your PC unless you send it to us. Each app's section says what its log holds.
- The Microsoft Store. Windows and the Microsoft Store install and update our apps, and handle payment and licenses for the ones that are sold, under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. The Microsoft Store copy of each app asks Windows now and then whether the Microsoft Store has a newer version. That question carries none of your information. We never see your payment details.
- Reports from Microsoft. Microsoft gives us reports about installs, and about sales for the apps that are sold. If your Windows is set to send diagnostic data, Microsoft may also share reports about our apps' crashes with us. These reports don't tell us who you are, and we use them only to understand installs and sales and to fix problems.
- When you contact us. If you email or write to us, we use what you send, such as your name, contact details and any log you attach, only to answer you and fix the problem. We keep that correspondence as long as we need it for support, and we don't sell or share it.
- This website. apps.bluebasinsystems.com has no analytics, no cookies, no forms and no outside scripts or fonts, and it doesn't count visits. It's hosted by Cloudflare, which handles each visit to deliver and protect the site and keeps standard request logs under the Cloudflare Privacy Policy. Our apps' own websites have their own privacy policies.
- Children. Our apps aren't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Extraction Desk
"ExtractionDesk" in the Microsoft Store. Free.
Extraction Desk is a Windows app for tracking cases and phones in a mobile forensics unit. It has no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking. Everything you enter is saved on your PC and in the folders you choose. The Microsoft Store copy goes online only to ask the Microsoft Store whether an update is ready. A copy of Extraction Desk installed without the Microsoft Store never goes online.
What it keeps on your PC
- Your cases and settings: report numbers, detectives, owner names, phone details, passcodes, notes and dates you enter. They're saved in the app's own data folder in your Windows user profile. Settings, then About, shows where.
- The reference documents and logo you add, in that same folder.
- A diagnostic log, in that same folder. It records when the app starts and closes, and the type of any error. It never records passcodes, notes, owner names or report text, and it stays on your PC unless you send it to us.
- Case folders and the reports you export, in the folder you choose in Settings, then Case folders. That can be on your PC or a network drive you pick.
- Photos of evidence labels you use to fill in a new case, copied into a Labels folder inside that case's folder.
- Backups, in the folder you choose in Settings, then Backup.
Cases and passcodes are saved as ordinary files, protected by your Windows account's permissions. Keep your PC and your backup folder where only you, or your unit, can read them.
When you fill in a case from a photo of an evidence label, the text is read by the text reader built into Windows, on your PC. The photo isn't uploaded anywhere.
What goes online
The Microsoft Store copy asks Windows whether the Microsoft Store has a newer version: a couple of minutes after it starts, every six hours while it's open, and when you click Check for updates in Settings, then About. Windows and the Microsoft Store handle that request under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. It carries none of your cases. Nothing else goes online.
Who receives it
No one. Extraction Desk shares nothing with anyone. Your information leaves your PC only when you put it somewhere yourself, for example by exporting a report, saving a backup to a network folder, or exporting your case log. Exports leave out owner names and passcodes unless you tick the box to include them.
Your control
You can change or delete any case in the app, and delete exported reports and backups like any other file. Uninstalling the Microsoft Store copy removes its data folder; your case folders and backups stay where you put them.
If you write to us about Extraction Desk, please don't send case details, passcodes or evidence.
FlightDock
Sold in the Microsoft Store, with a free trial.
FlightDock shows big buttons on your screen that send keyboard shortcuts to the program you're using. It doesn't collect or send personal information, and it has no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking.
What it keeps on your PC
- Your buttons, profiles and settings, such as where the panel sits and which profile is shown, in a FlightDock folder in your Windows user profile (AppData).
- Backups of the last 20 versions of anything it replaces, in that same folder.
- An error log, in that same folder, if something goes wrong. It holds technical details about the error and stays on your PC unless you send it to us.
- Profile files you save from the Profiles menu, wherever you save them.
These are ordinary files, protected by your Windows account's permissions.
What it reads
- FlightDock sends the keystrokes you set up to the program you're using, on your own PC.
- To show which program will get the keys, it reads only that program's name, from the program's file, while the panel is open. It never reads window or page titles, page contents or web addresses, and never saves any of this.
- It reads which keys you press only in its own "Press the key now" box, while you set up a button. It doesn't record what you type. To make sure it never leaves a key stuck down, it checks with Windows that the keys it pressed, and the Shift, Ctrl, Alt and Windows keys, are up again.
What goes online
FlightDock connects to no server of its own. The Microsoft Store copy asks Windows about its Microsoft Store license (in the free trial, or bought) when it starts, and after you click Buy, to open as soon as it's bought. It also asks Windows whether the Microsoft Store has a newer version: a minute after it starts, every six hours while it's open, and when you click Check for updates in About. Windows and the Microsoft Store handle these requests under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. They carry none of your buttons or settings. The Buy and Update buttons open the Microsoft Store, where Microsoft handles payment and updates. A test copy installed without the Microsoft Store doesn't check a license or updates with the Microsoft Store.
Who receives it
No one. FlightDock shares nothing with anyone. Your buttons and settings leave your PC only if you save a profile file somewhere that uploads it, or give the file to someone yourself.
Your control
You can change or delete any button in Edit mode, and delete profile files you saved like any other file.
ClipBasin
Sold in the Microsoft Store, with a free trial.
ClipBasin keeps text snippets, folders, apps and websites on a slim dock at the edge of your screen. It has its own privacy policy, which covers ClipBasin and its website in full: clipbasin.bluebasinsystems.com/privacy. In short:
What it keeps on your PC
Your snippets, sections, folders, apps and settings, backups of your snippets, the icons of websites you add, and an error log if something goes wrong, all in a ClipBasin folder in your Windows user profile (AppData). When you paste into a snippet or save a recent clip as one, ClipBasin reads what you copied. Recent clips shows your Windows clipboard history, which Windows itself keeps.
What goes online
ClipBasin asks Windows about its Microsoft Store license and whether the Microsoft Store has a newer version. Apart from that, it goes online only to get the icon of a website you add to the dock, when your browsers don't already have it. Those requests use only the site's address, never the rest of the link you saved, and carry no cookies or sign-in.
Who receives it
We never receive your snippets or settings. They leave your PC only if you choose a sync folder or save an export somewhere that uploads it.
Your control
Sync is off unless you turn it on. You can turn website icons off in Settings, then Behavior; websites then show a plain globe. ClipBasin's own privacy policy explains all of this in detail, including sync, exports and the clipboard. Where it says more than this summary, it's the one to go by.
Changes
If we change how one of our apps handles your information, or add an app, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
